NCAA Suspends Services to Airlines Over Unpaid Debts

The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has issued a directive suspending services to Air Peace, Ibom Air, and nine other domestic airlines due to their failure to pay statutory charges. This decision, communicated in an internal memo dated May 22, 2026, states that the affected airlines will not receive regulatory administrative services until they clear their outstanding debts and agree to a repayment plan.

The NCAA's directive emphasizes that the suspension affects regulatory support and raises concerns about potential operational delays for the airlines involved. The airlines listed include Air Peace, Ibom Air, Arik Air, United Nigeria Airlines, Umza Air, NG Eagle, Max Air, Caverton Helicopters, Overland Airways, Rano Air, and Valuejet.

The NCAA's Director of Finance, Olufemi Odukoya, signed the memo, which was circulated across the authority's regional offices, indicating that no services will be rendered to these airlines without financial clearance.
