NDC Adopts Consensus Primaries for 2027 Elections

The Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) adopted a consensus primary system for all positions in Nasarawa State during a zonal congress held in Lafia on Saturday. Dogo Shammah, the NDC state chairman, stated that the decision was made to avoid rifts within the party and to improve the chances of winning the upcoming 2027 general elections.

The NDC aims to present credible candidates for the governorship and state assembly elections. Shammah emphasized the importance of unity to prevent unnecessary friction and called on residents across the 13 local government areas of Nasarawa State and the North Central zone to support the party.

The congress was attended by delegates from six states in the North Central region, showcasing the growing momentum within the NDC. Barnaba Ejisi, the NDC vice chairman, urged Nigerians to vote for the party, which he claims will provide better governance.

The party's leadership, including Seriake Dickson, aims to rescue citizens from the current administration's maladministration.
