ADC Calls for Resistance Against NDC Deregistration

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) issued a statement on Saturday, condemning the Lokoja Federal High Court's decision to set aside its earlier judgment that recognized the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC). Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, the ADC's spokesperson, described this development as part of a disturbing pattern that threatens Nigeria's democratic space ahead of the upcoming general elections.

The ADC urged the judiciary to remain independent and impartial, warning against attempts to weaken opposition parties. The statement emphasized the need for opposition parties and civil society to unite in defense of constitutional democracy and resist any efforts to intimidate or silence legitimate opposition voices.

The ADC expressed concern over the actions of the Bola Tinubu administration, which they believe undermine the credibility of the electoral process. They called for vigilance among Nigerians to protect their rights to freely choose their leaders and to ensure that democracy is preserved.
