Kwankwaso Urges Calm After NDC Deregistration Ruling

Rabiu Kwankwaso, the vice presidential candidate of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) and former presidential candidate of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP), addressed supporters of the NDC and the Kwankwasiyya movement, urging them to remain calm and await further actions following a court ruling that deregistered the NDC. This statement was made during an interview on Wednesday, as reported by Daily Post.

The court's decision, which overturned an earlier judgment from December 10, 2025, mandated the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to register the NDC. Kwankwaso expressed disappointment with the court's ruling, which he described as invalid and based on a non-existent entity, the Peace Movement.

He indicated that the NDC would appeal the decision and emphasized the importance of support from stakeholders across the country, particularly among the youth.
