NDC Appeals Court Ruling on Party Registration

Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, leader of the Kwankwasiyya movement, are spearheading the party's legal battle against a recent court ruling that nullified its registration. The appeal is scheduled for Monday at the Federal High Court in Lokoja, Kogi State.

The NDC's leadership, including Seriake Dickson, the party's national chairman, convened a series of closed-door meetings to strategize their legal approach. Reuben Egwuaba, the party's national legal advisor, is expected to play a key role in the appeal process.

Ikenna Enekweizu, a party spokesperson, confirmed that the appeal has been filed but declined to disclose the identity of the lead counsel. The NDC remains confident in its legal position, asserting that the court's ruling lacks a legal foundation and is an attempt to undermine democratic processes in Nigeria.

The party aims to ensure its candidates participate in the upcoming elections despite the current legal challenges.
