Kwankwaso and Dickson Discuss NDC's Court Ruling Impact

Rabiu Kwankwaso, the Vice Presidential candidate of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), met with the party's National Leader, Seriake Dickson, to address concerns regarding the party's registration status following a recent court ruling. The Federal High Court in Lokoja, Kogi State, vacated its December 10, 2025 judgment, which had compelled the Independent National Electoral Commission to register the NDC.

Justice Isah Dashen delivered the earlier judgment without hearing necessary parties, leading to a constitutional defect in the court's decision. The Peace Movement Party argued for legal interest in the matter and joined the suit.

The judgment has raised concerns among opposition parties, who accuse President Bola Tinubu's administration of attempting to manipulate the judiciary. In a statement on his official Facebook page, Seriake Dickson confirmed the meeting with Kwankwaso, emphasizing the need for the NDC to stand together in the fight for multi-party democracy and to address any anomalies in the court's ruling.
