Dickson Rejects Court Order to Deregister NDC, Vows to Fight

Seriake Dickson, the leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), responded to a Federal High Court order delivered by Justice Isah Dashen in Lokoja, which directed the deregistration of the NDC. Dickson described the ruling as lacking legal merit and an attempt to undermine the credibility and progress of the NDC, which he argued threatens Nigeria's multi-party democracy.

He stated that the court order would not stand and vowed to challenge it through legal means. Dickson disclosed that the party is assembling a team of lawyers to set aside the court order and urged members to remain calm and continue their political activities.

He expressed confidence that the NDC would overcome the legal challenges and emphasized the party's commitment to deepening multi-party democracy in Nigeria. Dickson further alleged that unnamed individuals threatened the rapid growth of the NDC and were behind the court action, claiming that the party's progress within five months unsettled its opponents.
