NDC Leader Seriak Dickson Challenges Court Ruling

Seriak Dickson, the national leader of the NDC, expressed strong opposition to a Federal High Court ruling issued in Lokoja that derecognized the party. He described the court's order as lacking legal merit and aimed at undermining the credibility and progress of the political platform.

Dickson stated that the ruling would not stand against Nigeria's multi-party democracy and characterized it as anti-democratic, intending to stifle democratic space. He disclosed that the party has assembled a legal team to challenge the ruling and has already taken steps to set it aside.

Dickson urged party members to remain calm and continue their political activities, asserting that the NDC would overcome this challenge. He expressed surprise at the ruling, given the party's rapid growth over the past five months, and emphasized that the legal action appears politically motivated.

Despite the court order, he noted an increase in NDC membership, with thousands of Nigerians joining the party in solidarity.
