Dickson Defends NDC Against APC Proxy Allegations

On Tuesday, Seriak Dickson, the national leader of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and former governor of Bayelsa, dismissed allegations that the NDC is a proxy for the All Progressives Congress (APC). He defended the party's legitimacy, stating that it was independently registered with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and complied with all legal requirements, including a court order.

Dickson emphasized that there are no legal disputes regarding the NDC's registration and that INEC has already implemented the court order. He characterized the claims of the NDC being a proxy as baseless and a form of political bullying.

He reiterated the party's ideological platform aimed at uniting Nigerians who share democratic values and stressed the constitutional right to political association. Dickson called for support for the NDC as an alternative to existing parties like the APC and the African Democratic Congress (ADC), advocating for independent political choices in Nigeria.
