Dickson: NDC Formed After PDP's Weakened Foundation

Seriake Dickson, the leader of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), announced that the party was registered after the People's Democratic Party (PDP) was weakened. Speaking at the first national convention of the NDC in Abuja, Dickson emphasized that no political party in Nigeria has enjoyed the level of acceptance and enthusiasm that the NDC has received in a short period.

He disclosed that the NDC was established due to the compromise of the PDP and faced bureaucratic and legal challenges before eventually being registered by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) based on a court order. Dickson commended former presidential candidates Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso for joining the NDC, highlighting their unique political experiences and the hope they represent for Nigeria's future.
