NDC Prohibits State Chapters from Charging Support Groups

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has issued a warning to its state chapters against the collection of fees from support groups seeking registration with the party. Osa Director, the NDC National Publicity Secretary, stated that registration is free and solely managed by the Directorate of Support Groups at the party's national headquarters in Abuja.

This directive comes as political activities intensify ahead of the 2027 general election, with the party noting that some state chairmen were improperly demanding fees from support groups. Director emphasized that inquiries and registrations must be directed to the national headquarters, and any state chapter or official found violating this directive would face disciplinary action according to the party's constitution.

The NDC values the contributions of support groups, including the Obidient and Kwankwasiya movements, and aims to foster an environment conducive to their operations in support of the party's political goals.
