NDC Denies Misappropriation of Aspirants' Donations

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) issued a statement on Tuesday, denying allegations that donations and levies from aspirants for the 2027 general elections were misappropriated. Osa Director, the National Publicity Secretary, stated that all contributions were deposited into the party's designated account and managed by the appropriate party organs.

The NDC described the allegations as a campaign of misinformation by disgruntled individuals. As a new party without elected officials, the NDC has sought financial support from members and stakeholders to sustain its operations.

Director clarified that the party's National Leader, Seriake Dickson, neither demanded nor received any personal funds from aspirants, and all contributions were documented. The NDC plans to provide a full account of its finances in compliance with the Electoral Act and INEC guidelines.

The party emphasized that raising funds through voluntary contributions is standard practice for political parties, especially those building a national structure without access to resources from incumbents.
