Ndidi Embraces Versatile Role Under Besiktas Coach Italiano

Wilfred Ndidi, the captain of Besiktas, spoke about his role under the club's new head coach, Vincenzo Italiano, who was appointed last month. Ndidi noted that Italiano encourages players to contribute across the pitch rather than being restricted to specific positions.

He explained that the coach has made it clear that players should adapt and understand their roles in both defensive and attacking phases of the game. Ndidi joined Besiktas from Leicester City last year and quickly established himself as a key figure.

The former manager, Sergen Yalcin, did not lead the club to significant success, resulting in his exit after the season, where Besiktas finished fourth in the league. Ndidi is contracted with Besiktas until 2028 and has attracted interest from several clubs, including Hull City and Manchester United, as well as clubs from Saudi Arabia.

However, Besiktas will only consider a departure fee in the region of €8 million, the amount paid to sign him from Leicester City.
