NDLEA Busts Nigeria's Largest Meth Lab, Arrests Cartel

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) recently dismantled the largest methamphetamine laboratory in Nigeria, located in the Abidagba Forest, Ijebu East Local Government Area, Ogun State. This operation led to the arrest of ten members of a drug cartel, including three Mexican nationals, with one identified as Anochili Innoc, an alleged kingpin residing in Lekki, Lagos.

NDLEA Chairman Buba Marwa stated that no matter how hidden or fortified, the agency will pursue and disrupt drug networks, seizing illicit wealth. President Bola Tinubu commended the NDLEA for its bravery and dedication in the ongoing war against drug abuse, which he described as a critical security threat to the nation and a grave danger to the youth.

The NDLEA has faced challenges due to high drug prevalence in Nigeria, with recent reports indicating that 11 million Nigerians abuse drugs, significantly above the global average. The agency continues to enhance its operations and collaboration with international partners to combat drug trafficking effectively.
