Ogun NDLEA Arrests 306 Drug Offenders in Five Months

The Ogun State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) reported the arrest of 306 drug offenders and the prosecution of 64 individuals for various drug-related offenses between January and May 2026. Among those arrested were 272 males and 34 females, with significant drug seizures including 2,518.16 kg of cannabis sativa, 86.74 kg of methamphetamine, 44.90 liters of codeine, and 171.50 liters of skuchimmonkey tail.

Tijjani Rabe, the state command's representative, disclosed these figures during a press briefing held on International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. The command also dismantled a clandestine methamphetamine laboratory, indicating a shift in trafficking tactics.

Mr. Bamidel Abiodun, the matron of the Ogun State Drug Control Committee, urged parents to monitor their wards to prevent drug abuse. The NDLEA remains committed to enforcing drug laws and preventing substance abuse in the community.
