NDLEA Arrests 74-Year-Old Man with 11kg Cocaine

On March 14, 2026, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) arrested 74-year-old Ikwuakalom Nwakoro Emeka at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja. He was apprehended in the departure hall while attempting to board a British Airways flight bound for London.

During a routine check, NDLEA officers discovered 11 kilograms of cocaine concealed inside food items, specifically ground dry pepper, which was carefully wrapped in foil paper and balloons. The arrest was part of a broader anti-drug operation conducted by the NDLEA from March 9 to March 14, 2026, which led to multiple arrests and seizures across the country.

Femi Babafemi, a spokesperson for the agency, disclosed the details of the arrest, highlighting the ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking in Nigeria.
