NDLEA Arrests Lagos Businessman with 95 Cocaine Pellets at Kano Airport, Makes Multiple Drug Seizures

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) arrested Nwabuez Izuek, a 62-year-old Lagos-based businessman, at Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport in Kano State for attempting to traffic 95 cocaine pellets weighing 1.589 kilograms. Izuek was apprehended on January 31, 2026, during outward clearance for a passenger traveling to China via Addis Ababa on Ethiopian Airlines Flight ET940.

The NDLEA spokesman, Femi Babafemi, stated that Izuek ingested the illicit drugs and claimed to be a cloth and auto spare part businessman from Lagos. The agency also conducted operations in Abuja, Enugu, and Kaduna, seizing significant amounts of drugs like skunk strain cannabis and methamphetamines, leading to the arrest of multiple suspects, including drug kingpins and traffickers.
