NDLEA Seizes N10.3bn Drugs at Apapa Seaport

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) intercepted drugs valued at N10.3 billion at Apapa seaport on July 10. The seizure included 8,287 nylon bags containing a substance suspected to be Canadian loud, weighing 4,143.5 kilograms.

Femi Babafemi, the Director of Media and Advocacy at NDLEA, stated that the discovery followed a week of targeted tracking and monitoring of the shipment, which had departed from Montreal, Canada. The operation was conducted in collaboration with customs personnel and other security agencies.

Additionally, NDLEA's Director of Operations, General Dogi, foiled an attempt to export 2.5 kilograms of a substance suspected to be skunk strain cannabis, concealed in a compressor bound for Cyprus. NDLEA Chairman Buba Marwa, a retired Brigadier General, commended the officers involved in the Apapa command for their efforts in combating drug trafficking.
