NDLEA Operative Stabbed During Drug Crackdown in Bauchi

On Tuesday, July 29, 2026, an operative of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) was stabbed in the stomach during a drug enforcement operation in Anguwan Zango, Tilden Fulani, Toro Local Government Area, Bauchi. The incident occurred around 11 am when NDLEA personnel attempted to disperse a gathering of youths known for drug use.

A local resident reported that the operatives had gone to the area due to its reputation as a spot for drug-related activities. During the operation, the NDLEA team arrested one youth, but others intervened, leading to a struggle.

In the chaos, one of the youths used a sharp object to stab the NDLEA operative before fleeing the scene. The Bauchi State Command of the NDLEA has since declared the attacker wanted, although the suspect's identity and home address remain unknown.

An NDLEA official confirmed the incident but did not provide details regarding the injured operative's condition.
