NDLEA Dislodges Drug Hotspots in Kano, Arrests 15 Suspects

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Kano Strategic Command, conducted operations that dislodged six notorious drug hotspots in Kano, resulting in the arrest of 15 suspects and the recovery of various illicit substances. The targeted locations included Farm Centre, Kofar Nasarawa, Diga Nasarawa, Dakata (Zango), Filin Polo, and Hausawa.

The operation was based on intelligence assessments that identified these areas as associated with drug trafficking and abuse. CN DY Lawal, the Commander of the NDLEA Strategic Command, stated that the agency would continue to apply pressure on drug hotspots while combining enforcement with non-kinetic approaches, such as public sensitization and community partnerships.

Lawal warned individuals involved in the illicit drug trade to cease their activities, emphasizing that the agency would not allow them to operate with impunity. The 15 suspects are currently in NDLEA custody and will be processed according to existing laws as investigations continue.

The command also called on the public to provide credible information to help dismantle other drug networks in the state.
