Bauchi Police Arrest Suspected Drug Dealer, Seize Substances

On August 25, 2026, the Bauchi State Police Command arrested 23-year-old Aliyu Suleman, a resident of Tudun Salmanu, during an intelligence-led operation in Bayan Gari, Bauchi metropolis. The operation, conducted by the Vehicle Crime Response Unit, resulted in the recovery of 64 bottles of Methylene Chloride, known locally as ‘Suck and Die,’ and 17 pieces of rubber solution.

The police spokesperson, Nafiu Habib, stated that the substances were seized and registered as exhibits, and Suleman is currently in custody, cooperating with investigators. He will be charged in court upon the conclusion of the investigation.

The Commissioner of Police, Sani-Omolori Aliyu, emphasized the command's commitment to combating the distribution and abuse of harmful substances and directed all Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers to enhance surveillance and operations against illicit drug networks. The command also urged community stakeholders to provide timely information to aid in the fight against drug abuse.
