NDLEA Seizes 6,778.5kg Cannabis at Lagos Seaport

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) intercepted 6,778.5 kilograms of Canadian Loud, a potent strain of cannabis, at Apapa Seaport in Lagos. This seizure occurred during a joint examination with the Nigeria Customs Service on June 10, 2026.

The operation was part of a coordinated effort involving the NDLEA's Special Investigative Unit and Marine Intelligence Unit, in collaboration with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. The first container, CAAU 7569127, departed Toronto on April 16, 2026, and was transshipped through various locations before reaching Nigeria.

The second container, HAMU 3246311, left Montreal on May 1, 2026. Brig Gen Buba Marwa, the NDLEA Chairman, emphasized the agency's commitment to dismantling drug trafficking networks and targeting the financial operations behind them.

He praised the professionalism and dedication of the NDLEA and Nigeria Customs Service officers involved in the operation.
