NDLEA Seizes N16.9bn Tramadol and Codeine in Lagos

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) announced the seizure of narcotics valued at N16.9 billion in Lagos, following an operation that uncovered three illicit drug warehouses in the Okota area. The operation, which took place on Friday, April 17, 2026, led to the recovery of 2,360,000 pills of high-potency tramadol (225mg) and 1,909,400 bottles of codeine syrup.

The warehouses were located at 98 Olukayode Awofisayo Street and 5 Charl Ndumetu Street within the Park View Estate. NDLEA Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Brig Gen Mohammed Buba Marwa (retd) described the operation as a major disruption to drug trafficking networks operating within residential communities.

The agency's intelligence-led operation resulted in the recovery of nearly 4.3 million units of lethal substances, highlighting the agency's commitment to combating drug trafficking and protecting the future of Nigerian children.
