ADC Leadership Defends Aregbesola Against Allegations

The officially recognized Southwest leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has refuted allegations against National Secretary Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, labeling them as baseless and the work of “disgruntled elements” loyal to Kachikwu Ibe and Hon. Abejide, who recently lost a court case.

In a statement signed by Hon. Akinbowale Omole, ADC National Vice Chairman for the South West, the zonal leadership emphasized the need to clarify the situation following a petition to National Chairman Sen.

David Mark calling for Aregbesola’s removal. The statement came after a meeting in Ibadan attended by various zonal and national officers.

Omole stated that the National Executive Committee (NEC) is responsible for ratifying primary election results, not the National Secretary. He asserted that the NEC approved the primary outcomes before submission to INEC and criticized the petitioners for their actions during party congresses.

The zonal leadership reaffirmed their recognition of legitimate party leaders and condemned the petitioners' attempts to destabilize the party.
