NEC Committee Launched to Boost Livestock Development in Nigeria

The Nigerian Economic Council (NEC) has established a special committee during its 155th meeting to fast-track livestock development and implement reforms nationwide. Chaired by Vice President Kashim Shettima, the committee aims to address food insecurity and farmer-herder conflicts by promoting sustainable food security solutions.

The committee comprises representatives from six geopolitical zones and key ministries. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu directed the NEC to work with the Ministry of Livestock Development to create a roadmap for transforming the livestock sector into a modern and profitable contributor to national development.
