NECO Releases 2026 BECE Results and Re-sit Schedule

The National Examinations Council (NECO) has announced the release of the results for the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), which saw a total of 186,291 candidates registered across 12 subjects. The examination took place from April 20 to April 30, 2026.

The results were approved for release following a successful meeting of the award committee held at NECO headquarters in Minna, Niger State. The meeting was chaired by Dr.

Folak Olatunji David, the Director of Basic Education at the Federal Ministry of Education, who represented the Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa.

The award committee has also scheduled a re-sit examination for July 22-23, 2026, specifically for candidates who showed deficiencies in Mathematics and English studies. This re-sit aims to provide these candidates with an opportunity to remedy their deficiencies and obtain the necessary certification for admission into Senior Secondary School (SSS1) without repeating an academic year.
