NELFUND Extends Student Loan Application Deadline to 2026

The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has announced an extension of its student loan application portal until February 27, 2026, responding to a surge in nationwide interest following a recent sensitization campaign. Mr.

Oseyemi Oluwatuyi, Director of Strategic Communications at NELFUND, stated that the decision was made after receiving strong feedback from students and stakeholders across the country. The extension aims to provide eligible students with adequate opportunities to complete their applications.

Mr. Akintund Sawyerr, Managing Director and Chief Executive of NELFUND, emphasized the organization's commitment to equitable access to educational financing.

He encouraged institutions that have not yet commenced the 2025/2026 academic session to submit official requests for extensions alongside their approved academic calendars. NELFUND remains dedicated to transparency and accountability in delivering sustainable financial solutions to remove barriers to higher education in Nigeria.
