NELFUND Extends Student Loan Applications to 2026

The Nigerian Educ Loan Fund (NELFUND) has announced an extension of its student loan application portal until February 27, 2026, in response to a significant surge in nationwide interest. Mr.

Oseyemi Oluwatuyi, Director of Strategic Communications at NELFUND, disclosed this decision in a statement issued in Abuja, following a reminder notice last week. The extension aims to provide eligible students with adequate opportunities to complete their applications, especially as many institutions have not yet submitted verified student lists for the 2025/2026 academic session.

Mr. Akintund Sawyerr, Managing Director and Chief Executive of NELFUND, reaffirmed the fund's commitment to equitable access to tertiary education financing.

He encouraged institutions to submit official requests for extensions alongside their academic calendars. NELFUND remains dedicated to transparency and accountability in delivering sustainable financial solutions to remove barriers to higher education in Nigeria.
