NEMA Receives 100 Nigerian Returnees from Algeria

On Wednesday, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) received 100 Nigerian returnees from Algeria as part of an ongoing voluntary return program facilitated by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the Federal Government of Nigeria. The returnees arrived at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos aboard an Air Algerie flight with registration number 7T VJT.

The group comprised 96 adults (77 males and 19 females) and four infants (two females and two males). Upon arrival, officials from the Nigeria Immigration Service conducted biometric registration to ensure accurate records and facilitate a smooth reintegration process into the country.

The Federal Government is committed to ensuring the safe and dignified return of its citizens. The returnees were immediately provided with humanitarian assistance, including food, potable water, and medical care, addressing their immediate nutritional and health needs, along with logistical support for luggage handling and movement coordination.
