NDC Chairman Nentawe Meets Senator Gaya in Abuja

Professor Nentawe, the chairman of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), visited Senator Gaya, a former Kano Governor and founding member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), at his residence in Abuja. The meeting was described by Nentawe as “warm and focused on the unity of Kano State.” Both leaders agreed on the importance of dialogue and peaceful coexistence, emphasizing that democracy thrives on collective interests rather than political divisions.

This visit followed Nentawe's earlier meetings with Senator Rufai Hanga, the only NDC Senator from Kano and an ally of the party’s Vice Presidential candidate, Rabiu Kwankwaso. These engagements are perceived as part of the APC's broader strategy to attract opposition leaders in preparation for the 2027 elections.

Although details of the meeting were not fully disclosed, observers speculate that Gaya may contemplate returning to the APC, despite the uncertainty of securing a ticket for the upcoming elections.
