APC Chairman Yilwatda Engages NDC's Gaya in Kano Visit

Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), continued his outreach to opposition figures in Kano by visiting Senator Kabiru Ibrahim Gaya, a prominent member of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) and a former founding member of the APC. The meeting took place at Gaya's residence in Abuja, where both leaders discussed the importance of unity in Kano State.

Yilwatda described the encounter as “warm and focused on the unity of Kano State,” emphasizing the need for dialogue and peaceful coexistence. This visit followed Yilwatda's earlier meetings with Senator Rufai Hanga, the only NDC Senator from Kano, which were also centered on themes of peace and unity.

Observers interpret these engagements as part of the APC's broader strategy to attract opposition leaders in preparation for the 2027 elections. Although details of the discussions were not fully disclosed, there is speculation that Gaya might consider returning to the APC, despite potential challenges in securing a party ticket.
