NEPC and NANS Partner to Boost Student Export Skills

The Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) and the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) have proposed a partnership aimed at training students in non-oil exports and establishing export hubs across tertiary institutions in Nigeria's six geopolitical zones. Mrs. Nonye Ayeni, Executive Director/Chief Executive Officer of NEPC, emphasized the importance of Nigerian youths in the non-oil export ecosystem and expressed the Council's readiness to explore this partnership.

NANS Secretary-General, Oladimeji Uthman Fodio, highlighted that with youths making up over 60% of Nigeria's population, there is a need to channel their energy into productive economic activities. The initiative includes training on export procedures and establishing Export Hubs on campuses, where NEPC personnel would provide mentorship.

Additionally, NANS proposed a national summit titled “Students Export & Entrepreneurship Initiative – From Campus to Global Market,” focusing on empowering students for non-oil export and global entrepreneurship through training and exposure.
