Nestlé has confirmed the theft of a shipment weighing approximately 12 tonnes of KitKat chocolate bars, which disappeared during transit in Europe last week. The truck, transporting 413,793 units of the new chocolate range, was en route from Central Italy to Poland when the heist occurred.

A spokesperson for the brand referenced the iconic catchphrase "Have a break, have a KitKat," humorously suggesting that the thieves took the message literally. Nestlé warned that this theft may lead to shortages of KitKat products on store shelves, particularly as Easter approaches, and acknowledged that consumers may struggle to find their favorite chocolate bars.

The company is currently collaborating closely with local authorities and supply chain partners to investigate the incident. They also cautioned that the stolen chocolate bars could enter unofficial sales channels across the European market, and they have provided instructions for identifying stolen goods through unique batch codes.
