Fireboy DML Dominates New Music Releases This Week

Fireboy DML earns two slots in the latest music releases due to his new album. His collaboration with Lojay, following their 2024 track "Letting Go," showcases a catchy Nigerian hip-hop and Afrobeats record.

The track is noted for its infectious quality, anchored by Fireboy's consistent vocals. Victony extends his viral hit with a cross-continental remix featuring American artists Summer Walker and Don Toliver.

Walker delivers a stronger verse, while Toliver's contribution is described as competent but not memorable. The remix references Wu-Tang Clan's 1993 song "C.R.E.A.M." but does not fully capitalize on the source material.

Additionally, Fireboy's track leans into his emotional Afro-Life signature, presenting a smooth Afro-R&B record. Gyakie's follow-up to her breakout "Okunkun" continues her YoruPop style, blending traditional Yoruba culture with contemporary pop, and is noted for its sharper direction compared to her debut.
