New Power Minister Tegbe Sworn In, Promises Improvements

Joseph Tegbe was sworn in as Nigeria's new Minister of Power on a Monday, where he pledged to enhance electricity supply in the country. He emphasized the government's commitment to investing heavily in the power sector over the past three years, which he believes will soon yield visible improvements for Nigerians.

Tegbe acknowledged the difficulties faced by the industry but assured that the government would focus on delivering improved services while ensuring vulnerable Nigerians are not left behind. He stated that while he cannot promise a "magic wand" or 24-hour power supply, Nigerians will see tangible improvements.

Tegbe noted recent reports of better electricity supply attributed to President Bola Tinubu's commitment to the sector. He confirmed that the Ministry of Power, which he supervises, has engaged key stakeholders across the electricity value chain.

He appealed for patience and support from Nigerians as the government addresses challenges in power generation, transmission, and distribution.
