New Zealand Announces 24 Qualifications for Work Visa

New Zealand Immigration has published a comprehensive list of 24 qualifications that will make graduates eligible for a Post-Study Work Visa in 2026. The guidance specifies that graduates holding non-degree qualifications at New Zealand Qualifications Framework (NZQF) Level 7 or below are restricted to working in roles directly related to their area of study.

The qualifications include various graduate diplomas in fields such as highway engineering, civil engineering, construction management, and quantity surveying, leading to roles like Construction Project Manager, Project Builder, and Quantity Surveyor. Additionally, a diploma at NZQF Level 6 or higher in relevant fields can also qualify graduates for similar roles.

The Teaching Council of Aotearoa New Zealand is involved in certifying qualifications for teaching roles, while Engineering New Zealand certifies engineering qualifications for Chartered Professional Engineer status. This initiative aims to align graduate skills with industry needs in New Zealand.
