President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva humorously noted that Neymar is the first player to work remotely for the national team.

Neymar missed Brazil's opening match, a 1-1 draw against Morocco, and has been omitted from coach Carlo Ancelotti's squad for the second group game against Haiti. Lula mentioned Neymar's situation during a ceremony in Belo Horizonte.

Neymar, 34 years old, has faced various fitness issues and has not played for the national team since October 2023. He is expected to integrate back into the squad for Brazil's final group stage game against Scotland on June 24.
