NFF Approaches William Osula for International Switch

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has approached Newcastle United striker William Osula about the possibility of switching his international allegiance from Denmark to Nigeria. Osula, who is 22 years old and was born in Copenhagen to a Danish mother and a Nigerian-French father, is eligible to represent three countries at the senior level.

He has previously featured for Denmark at youth levels but has not yet made his senior debut. Football journalist Farzam Abolhosseini reported that while Osula remains eligible to play for France, Nigeria is eager to secure his commitment.

Meanwhile, Osula is currently under contract with Hamburg SV until June 15, 2024, and a decision regarding a loan move is pending. Additionally, Nigerian winger Philip Otel, who was signed on loan from FC Basel for a fee of 1 million, is facing a two-match suspension due to a red card received in a recent derby against Werder Bremen.
