NFF in Talks with Newcastle's Osula for Super Eagles Switch

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has opened talks with William Osula, a 22-year-old forward currently playing for Newcastle United, about the possibility of him switching allegiance to represent Nigeria's national football team, the Super Eagles. Osula, who was born to a Danish mother and a Nigerian father, has previously represented Denmark at youth levels but remains eligible to play for Nigeria due to his Nigerian heritage.

Although he received a senior call-up for Denmark during the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in March, he did not appear in the matches. Football journalist Farzam Abolhosseini reported that the NFF has already begun early discussions with Osula regarding his potential commitment to Nigeria.

Osula has been strongly identified with his Nigerian roots, yet he has not made a final decision regarding his international future, balancing his options between Nigeria and Denmark.
