NGF Supports Georgia Oboh's Olympic Bid for 2028

The Nigeria Golf Federation (NGF), led by Otunba Olusegun Runsewe, is encouraging professional golfer Georgia Oboh to submit a formal application for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. Oboh, a 24-year-old golfer born in Manchester, is a member of the Ladies European Tour and has made history as the first Nigerian woman to earn a full LPGA Tour card for the 2026 season.

To support her Olympic qualification bid, she is seeking £30,000 through crowdfunding efforts organized by her mother, Mr. Evelyn Oboh.

Oboh has previously competed in the Epson Tour in the United States and is scheduled to begin her 2026 campaign on February 11 at the PIF Saudi Ladies International in Riyadh. Runsewe emphasized the need for the NGF to formally back Oboh's application and highlighted the importance of community support in her Olympic aspirations, noting that Oboh's participation would mark a significant milestone for Nigeria in golf.
