Nicola Commends Akor Adams for Winning Goal Against Napoli
Davide Nicola, the new head coach of Venezia, expressed support for Nigerian striker Akor Adams following his match-winning goal in a 1-0 victory over Napoli. The goal, scored in the 49th minute at Stadio Pier Luigi Penzo, marked Venezia's first points in Serie A this season, ending a six-match losing streak.
This match was also Nicola's first in charge after replacing Giovanni Stroppa. Nicola remarked on Adams' dedication and significant potential for improvement, stating, "Adams puts his soul into it; he has very important qualities, and he helps the team." In response, Adams thanked Nicola, stating he does not set limits for himself and acknowledged the coach's guidance on intensity, defensive organization, and transitions.
The performance of Adams, along with goalkeeper Filip Stanković, provided optimism for Venezia as they aim for greater consistency under their new leadership.
