Committee Reviews Armed Forces Doctrine at 6 Division

The committee on the review of the Armed Forces, led by Major General Ademola Adedoja, conducted a consultative visit to the headquarters of the 6 Division of the Nigerian Army in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. This visit is part of efforts to produce an updated Joint Defence Doctrine that reflects Nigeria's evolving security environment and contemporary operational realities.

The review, directed by Chief of Defence Staff General Olufemi Oluyede, aims to ensure that the doctrine remains relevant to current operational demands. Although an attempt to update the doctrine for the period 2022-2025 was not concluded, the current review commenced in the first week of June 2026, focusing on critical areas such as logistics, command control, technology, and emerging threats.

Major General Adedoja encouraged the command staff of the 6 Division to contribute constructively to the review process, ensuring that all submissions are duly considered. Major General Emmanuel Emekah represented the Chief of Staff at the 6 Division during this visit.
