Niger Governor Umar Bago Vows to Combat Banditry

On Thursday, Niger State Governor Umar Bago announced his commitment to confront bandits and their informants, as revealed in a video clip. During a visit to the Borgu Local Government Area, he expressed concern over the disruption of educational and agricultural activities due to banditry.

Bago disclosed that the state government has received support from the federal government and foreign partners to enhance operations against terrorism. He warned that banditry is drawing the state backward and urged residents to collaborate in eradicating this menace.

The governor highlighted the use of technology to monitor communications and track criminal activities, stating that informants would be held accountable for their actions.
