Niger State Governor Bago Names Running Mate for 2027

Niger State Governor Umaru Moham Bago has confirmed that his current Deputy Governor, Yakubu Garba, will continue as his running mate for the upcoming 2027 governorship elections. This announcement was made at the government house in Minna, the state capital.

Yakubu Garba, who is a retired civil servant and politician from the Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State, has been serving as the Deputy Governor since May 29, 2023. He represents the Shiroro constituency in the Niger State House of Assembly and has held several leadership positions in various capacities within the state civil service before venturing into politics.
