Nigeria and Benin Strengthen Defence Cooperation Against Crime

On a working visit to the Republic of Benin, General Christopher Musa (Rtd.), the Minister of Defence of Nigeria, reaffirmed the nation's commitment to strengthening defence cooperation with Benin to address terrorism, cross-border crime, and other transnational security threats. Musa emphasized the importance of improved intelligence sharing, coordinated military operations, and sustained engagement between the two countries to enhance border security and prevent criminal activities.

He stated that the collaboration aims to stop bandits and criminals from infiltrating borders. Musa expressed gratitude to the Benin authorities for their hospitality and support.

While addressing Nigerian troops stationed in Benin, he commended their dedication and assured them of the federal government's commitment to improving their welfare and providing necessary support for effective duty performance. Musa also promised to visit the troops upon their return to discuss further developments and initiatives aimed at enhancing their living conditions and operational effectiveness.
