Nigeria Strengthens Global Partnerships for Women's Empowerment

Nigeria is deepening its global partnerships for women's empowerment, as highlighted during the 9th OIC Ministerial Conference held in Islamabad, Pakistan. The conference, themed around socio-economic and political empowerment of women in OIC countries, featured discussions between Nigeria's Minister of Women Affairs, Sulaiman Ibrahim, and OIC Assistant Secretary General, Tariq Ali Bakheet.

They emphasized the need to strengthen collaboration among member countries to create an enabling environment for women and girls, particularly in the digital economy. Key areas of focus included the development of digital gender policies, initiatives to support women's digital skills training, and promoting financial empowerment through digital means.

The discussions also aimed to enhance women's economic participation and identify collaborative opportunities to accelerate progress in women's empowerment across OIC member states. Minister Sulaiman Ibrahim reiterated Nigeria's commitment to working with the international community to advance gender equality and expand opportunities for women and girls.
