Nigeria Earns N55.5 Trillion from Crude Oil Sales in 2025 with Improved Output and Prices

Nigeria's revenue from crude oil sales in 2025 reached N55.5 trillion, reflecting an increase from the previous year due to higher crude output and stable oil prices. The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) and the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) provided data showing that Nigeria produced a total of 530.41 million barrels of crude oil throughout the year.

The average price per barrel was $72.08, resulting in gross crude oil revenue of $38.23 billion. The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) also engaged in forward sales and loans, including a $3 billion deal with Afreximbank in 2024.

Despite the revenue generated, Nigeria's crude oil production remained below its OPEC quota of 1.5 million barrels per day in 2025.
