Nigeria Earns N55.5 Trillion from Crude Oil Sales in 2025 Amid Price Fluctuations

In 2025, Nigeria earned N55.5 trillion from crude oil sales, with an average price of $72.08 per barrel. The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) data revealed that Nigeria produced a total of 530.41 million barrels of crude oil from January to December 2025.

The revenue was calculated by multiplying the total barrels produced by the average crude oil price. The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) data showed that Bonny Light crude, Nigeria's flagship grade, traded at varying prices throughout the year.

The revenue generated, approximately $38.23 billion, was a significant contribution to the country's economy. The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) and African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) were involved in financial agreements related to crude oil sales and loans.
