Nigeria Launches Youth-Led Climate Caravan Across Africa

The Nigerian government has officially launched the "Climate Beyond Borders Caravan" in Abuja, aimed at driving youth-led climate solutions across Africa. The initiative, supported by the People Planet Peace Foundation, seeks to strengthen climate advocacy and promote eco-tourism through community-driven climate action.

Comrade Ayodel Olawand, the Minister of Youth Development, expressed pride in hosting the caravan, which will travel through 17 African countries, including Nigeria, Benin Republic, and Togo. Mr.

Leah Akinfiresoy, a senior special assistant, described the theme as mobilizing resources for Nigerian youth to develop grassroots climate solutions. Dr.

Joseph Omoniyi, the Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology, emphasized the caravan's mission to identify indigenous climate solutions and build a database of local technologies. The initiative aims to address the urgent challenges posed by climate change while creating economic opportunities for youth through green jobs and sustainable enterprises.
