Nigeria and Ghana Advance in FIFA U-20 Women's Qualifiers

Nigeria's U-20 women's team, the Falconets, secured their place in the final round of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers by defeating Senegal 2-1 in the second leg of their third-round tie on Saturday night, resulting in a 3-1 aggregate victory. This win keeps alive their hopes of qualifying for the tournament.

Similarly, Ghana's U-20 side, the Black Princesses, advanced with a 1-0 win over South Africa in Nelspruit, achieving a 3-2 aggregate triumph. These results confirm that Nigeria and Ghana are among eight African countries progressing to the final round of qualifiers, which will determine Africa's representatives for the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.

The final round fixtures are expected to be fiercely contested as teams vie for qualification.
